The short version: we collect what we need to ship your order and send the emails you asked for. We don’t sell your data. Syntax doesn’t know what a data broker is, and we’d like to keep it that way.
Who we are
Damn It Carl (“we,” “us”) runs damnitcarl.com. Questions about this policy go to admin@damnitcarl.com.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number (if you give it), and what you bought.
- When you pay: payments are handled by PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you join the Dispatch or grab a free download: your email address and name (if given).
- When you comment: the name, email and comment you submit.
- Automatically: basic usage data such as pages viewed, device, browser and rough location, plus cookies that keep your cart and account working.
How we use it
- To make, ship and support your order.
- To send the newsletter and downloads you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To see which pages are useful and fix the ones that aren’t.
- To block spam and abuse.
Who we share it with
Only the services that make the site work:
- Printful prints and ships your order, so it receives your name, shipping address and order details.
- PayPal processes payments.
- HubSpot and MailPoet store newsletter signups and send our emails.
- Google (Analytics, Search Console, Merchant Center and reCAPTCHA) measures traffic, lists products in Google Shopping and stops bots.
- Microsoft Clarity records anonymized page interactions, such as clicks, scrolling and heatmaps, so we can see where the site is confusing.
- Jetpack (Automattic) provides site security and stats.
- Our hosting provider stores the site and its database.
We don’t sell or rent your personal information.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart and account working, and analytics cookies to count visits and see how the site is used. You can block or clear cookies in your browser, but the cart may stop working if you do.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as we need them for taxes, accounting and returns. We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing admin@damnitcarl.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, and we’ll honor them.
Kids
This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
